These Swedish hand towels were woven over fifty years ago of 100% linen in a quality unmatched today.
They were commissioned during the Cold War on behalf of the Government of Sweden to be used in hospitals in case
another World War should occur, and they were stockpiled by the National Swedish Welfare Board along
with bed linens, blankets, and more. Preparedness was important! It was finally decided that not only is it
unlikely that World War III will ever happen, but if it does, hospitals will not need 100% linen towels of the highest possible quality, but can function as well, with today’s paper towels, hot air blowers, etc. As a result, some of these great towels offered for sale in Sweden have now found their way to the USA! Sizes: Green and red border: 21 ¾” x 28 ½” Natural: 25” x 32” Packed in cartons for over 50 years they have a few wrinkles, so be prepared to use your iron for some touch up work upon receipt! |
